It was about time that I finally painted the fantastic little bird that is the goldfinch.
It's a bird that always reminds me of being home in England. Spring had arrived and Summer was on its way when I would hear the twittering of finches on the wind. Alighting on the telephone wires in front of my parent's house, their audacious punch of red and yellow framed by jet black has always made the British skies a little brighter.
Another charming bird to be collected into an eventual book on our feathered friends.
Painted in acrylic on a page of 'The Country Diary of Edwardian Lady.'
