Inspired by hiking to an alpine lake. After hours of hiking upward, I came across this beautiful (and cold) glacier-fed lake. I couldn't help but jump in the frigid water, even if it was only a second. One word, invigorating! Nature's cold plunge! I spent some time exploring along the lake's shore. I sat upon the granite rocks, taking time to for a simple lunch and to sketch. Simple pleasures which fill my soul.
Original Oil painting applied with brushes on archival wood panel. Painting measures 16" x 20" x .75." Framed in a Maple Wood Floater frame. An archival varnish has been applied to accentuate the vibrancy of colors and help protect the original painting.
