Oil on board. Gin with tonics is a play on words. This 19 century Gin bottle with bottles of Tonics captures a moment in time. My studio's shelves are full of objects d'art, found objects and beautiful antiques, stuffed animals!. Objects that have been loved, cherished and handled for decades by people who have previously owned them and now bare the marks of their love and handling through history. Now preserved on canvas/board to be appreciated once again for their design. Glass was the plastic of the 19 century, coloured glass has a particular kind of beauty when light refracts through and on its surface.
