Original artwork description:

'Even when you're feeling warm/The temperature could drop away/Like four seasons in one day.'

They lyrics of 'Four Seasons In One Day' - co written by Neil and Tim Finn of Australian rock band Crowded House - references the changeable Melbourne weather where the group was formed. In another life this artist lived in San Francisco, a city which has been known to experience similarly fickle meteorological conditions. Celebrating his birthday with friends - in mid July - on Baker Beach the artist was sunbathing in bright hot sunshine when, before you could say 'pass the suncream', he will always swear it suddenly started snowing. Now it rarely snows in San Fran so this claim may be hyperbolic but, whatever, the temperature dropped by 25 degrees Centigrade in a heartbeat as one of the infamous fogs rolled in from the Pacific. The party was over. The weather degenerated from summer to winter, without autumn or spring getting involved very much, and oversight corrected in this painting.
