Certainly I was thinking of the scientific concepts associated with matter that floats and matter that sinks, represented here by the opalescent light green color that seems to float and disperse in the upper half of this small encaustic painting, and to condense and sink in the lower half. I've used a russet copper for the reddish areas, cobalt blue and lighter shades of blue (some aqua). Interesting fractures and striations, and I can see some deep space imagery in this one as well.
