Original artwork description:

The Needles are a chalk rock formation on the west side of the Isle of Wight which is off the coast of southern England. This painting depicts the rosy evening light as it glows on the white cliffs of the island. The pocket gaff cutter with its brown tan sails heads for the port of Yarmouth which is the just beyond the Needles. Passing the light house at the end of the Needles is a welcome sight to many sailors. The picture has a contemporary white wooden frame.
