Original artwork description:

This is an image which I created from sketches I made on a walk through a beautiful woodland area. This is the kind of landscape I love - wild, unkempt and full of atmosphere. Away from civilization and into ancient woods you can imagine weird and wonderful things happening here. Especially if you believe in faeries (as I do).
This is a monotype, which is a one-off piece. It's created by painting with printing ink onto a Perspex sheet, covering with paper and running through a printing press. I use all kinds of things eg sticks, toothbrushes, crumpled paper) to make the marks and I like to hand-burnish it afterwards as well, which means scratching into the image to create light and texture.
