Another fantastic source for feeding my mania for pattern and decorative art is textiles. Over the years I have collected a variety of fabrics and photos from my many travels and my idea is to eventually transfer them into a mosaic of linocut prints that could be collected individually and then grouped and hung together on a wall.
This particular pattern is an embroidery detail originating from Eastern Europe. I have used hand painted tissue paper for the blocks of colour in this particular print the tissue paper has a beautiful textural quality to enhance the idea of it being a textile pattern. And then the Lino print on the top is a blue green.
