Artist's description:

The hills leading to the Jurassic Coastline are over-flowing with historical references, including dinosaurs. This painting is like a whole package of images that are in my mind. I pick up on colours and atmosphere when driving or walking around here. On the tops of these hills you can see for ever - along the coast and out to sea. I prepared some MDF (medium density fibreboard) with a few coats of white acrylic gesso and sanded it smooth. My initial design was laid out in acrylic ink. Before this was completely dry I wash off some ink and let it dry. This left me with an overall design which I drew into with acrylic ink using a long pipette, keeping a rhythm going throughout. I eventually left this alone for awhile, arguing with myself as to whether I should paint colour - or not. Well obviously, I did. It still took me another 2 months to be satisfied with it with one question - should I paint the trees? I decided not.
