Artist's description:

This is one of the works comprising the series "365" It was a project where I painted one work every day for the length of one year, May 2012 to May 2013. There was no restriction in terms of style, technique or subject matter. It was a kind of visual yearly diary, or a way to put into practice the quote attributed to the ancient painter Apelles: Not a day without a line!
The paricular painting made in 2013 with acrylics on wood panel was the work for day 315 of the project. It is an abstract composition inspired by a Byzantine manuscript detail. I find that many details of medieval art are very close to modern abstract or color field paintings.
