Dawn captures the moment when the sun breaks the horizon turning the landscape into a glowing mass. there a special stillness to the moment when the sun reappears, one that you have to rise early to see, Summer dawns are best to experience at this magical moment as there is so little else stirring. painting is presented with text finished edges left and right edge" The darkest hour is just before dawn" Expression which came into use about 1700, coined by Thomas Fuller in his 1650 travelogue " A Pisgah_sight of Palestine and confines there of". The painting is richly textured making it both a tactile and visual experience.
