This painting is of the Western approach climbing Pew Tor on Dartmoor.
A distinct view of the Tor and one which typifies the landscape on Dartmoor. I have painted this Tor so many times, and each time I find something new to focus on. With this image I wanted to bring some of the energy that the skies in this area often display into the landscape as well. I used a palette knife to help deliver some of this energy and load the texture.
Painted in oil on canvas with a box canvas to allow the owner the option to hang unframed if desired.
