In ancient China cranes are a symbol of longevity, focus, discipline and vigilance. They are celebrated as highly monogamous birds and form bonds that last a lifetime. They represent a soaring spirit, health and happiness
Inspired by the 18th Century Italian painter Giuseppe Castiglione (Lang Shining), who became a court painter to the Emperor of China and brought the Western style of perspective to Chinese painting.
