Original artwork description:

Are our individual and group conversations still the same during this pandemic? Are we still talking to strangers not wearing a face mask when we walk on the street? What do we think about them?

This painting depicts a conversation between Penelope (wearing a face mask) and a heron (without a mask) that happened in Coronado Island.

Penelope is a large bronze sculpture created by sculptor Michael Stutz. The head piece is standing a few feet from the ocean. Someone temporarily installed a massive cloth face mask on Penelope. A curious heron is standing right in front of her watching her eye to eye. Two spectators wearing face masks are behind watching the conversation. What are they talking about?

Original acrylic and ink painting on canvas 16 x 20." A larger original painting can be made of this scene on a commission.

Materials used:

Acrylic paint, ink
