About Ezra Bejar

  • Biography
Ezra creates transformative paintings at the intersection of art, science and humanity. He is a professional educated in the arts and the science, who lives in San Diego, California and has traveled extensively around the world. Although he made a living as a scientist and published extensively on scientific journals for over 30 years, in 2010, his inner fire switched to full-time creative painting.

With a force catapulted by his own personal transformation, after a temporary loss of vision and thirty years of research, Ezra learned to see nature and urban spaces in a more meaningful way, extracting an alternative reality full of color, texture and geometries.

Ezra started his educational artistic roots; learning about the masters and modern painters at his father gallery in Mexico City. He used his creative art, occasionally to illustrate his ideas and scientific findings, but as he underwent eye treatment in Los Angeles, he developed a new artistic vision while still working as a science executive. He spent two years at San Diego State University College of Art and Design participating in advanced painting and multimedia studies. His work of science was eventually incorporated into his art developing a unique methodology using physical paint and multimedia software.

Ezra uses science tools in art creation, including observation, documentation, and media research. He relies on a deeply-rooted, uncompromising, artistic vision, keeping an eye on color complementary, balance, textures, and a central idea.

His expressionistic and gestural paintings about nature and urban environments are full of abstraction, geometries, bold colors, textures and originality. He has received acclaim from curators, art collectors and art organizations in California and other parts of the US.

What drives Ezra every day into his art is a drive to create the next transformative piece his audience will resonate with. His paintings are well appreciated, exhibited and collected in the US, Europe, Asia and Mexico.
