Artwork description:

ARTWORK CONCEPT:
For me, St. Petersburg from early childhood was associated with something mythological. This abundance of sculptures on the walls of buildings, the ever-cloudy sky and long summer thunderstorms with winds “from all four directions” evoked thoughts of the Thunderer Zeus, who seemed to be about to descend from Mount Olympus. Atlantes impressed me especially with their globality, as a child I considered them the guardians of the city and was amazed at their monumentality. It was these feelings that I wanted to convey in the image of the city I created.
TECHNIQUE:
The work was drawn on a 300 year old Bavarian lithographic stone using a lithographic pencil and ink. After that, the stone was put into the acid, and the prints were printed on an old KRAUS press. A limited edition of 14 prints, each hand-printed and original, was released in 2021. The original drawing on the stone was subsequently demolished . The printing technology has been time-tested, so you don't have to worry about the safety of the picture. Artists such as Toulouse Lautrec, Ramon Casas and Salvador Dali worked in this unique technique and their prints have survived until present days.
AUTHORS CONCEPT:
All my artworks are based on real events and deeply personal experiences, which I express through metaphorical appeals, surrealistic forms and variety of signs. All buildings, objects, people at pictures are real and based on my memories, photos and real life models.
