The first time I experienced a "catwalk" was at London Fashion Weekend, in the spring at Somerset House, London. Although, the clothes and accessories were interesting, the thing that was paramount for me was the show itself...the steadfast movement, the almost blinding light that bathed the walkway, the vibrant clothes, the thumping music and the soldier-like gaits - all came together like a ceremony the penetrated all the senses. A transfixing experience with a means to an end.
