This abstract drawing is of a woman, playing the Cello, beautifully. The complexity and purity of the sound inspired this work!
I drew this image time after time again directly on the glass, the abstraction becoming more complex and lively with each iteration of drawing, constantly turning the glass and working on both sides. I inked it finally, loading the ink with bronze and firing this into the glass at glass-casting temperatures (about 850C), before staining the work to draw out the original shapes of player and instrument.
It's mounted on stuccoed stretched canvas, and is ready to hang!
