This acrylic painting on canvas is inspired by the lovely views at Burnham-on-Crouch, on the Essex coast. There is something intriguing about a tidal estuary when the water disappears for half the day. At low tide you are treated to views of shining mudflats, interrupted by streams of seaweed and water, and sometimes uncovering bits of 'treasure'.
This interpretation of the view includes some found trash objects, like string, mesh and acrylic 'skins', bringing a three dimensional feeling to the painting.
Created on a deep sided canvas, it is framed in a natural, white wood, narrow profile and deep sided tray frame. Ready to hang.
This painting was long-listed for the Royal Marine Society finalists exhibition in 2019.
