Artwork description:

A monoprint of a Bibi (Granma) from the USA inspired by the American Archives that recorded the African-American ex-slaves. The print is part of an ongoing project exploring the history of lost generations, forming a body of work that seeks to highlight areas of history that can become overlooked and forgotten.

This project is an ongoing personal project that I have been pursuing over the last two years. The print has been produced through a process of layering three colours to form the image through a technique known as monoprint, forming a monotype print.

Materials used:

Oil based printing ink on watercolour paper stock.
