The name of this painting is "Beauty For Ashes", named from a song I was listening to which influenced the direction of the painting. The song says, 'Its beauty for ashes, joy for mourning, praise for heaviness, for your glory.' I like the contrast and the metaphor that a life can be in the ashes but can be brought out into a place where there is beauty. There are parts of collage in the painting, and I have used oils and other mixed media. It comes ready to be hung. The sides are painted in a deep grey.
