🎨A carefully crafted vertical composition to decorate the narrow walls that we are often obliged to decorate with small paintings. This is both a still life and a vanitas. The apple, the books and the pocket watch are familiar and symbolic elements. The light against the background seems divine and adds depth. It symbolises the happiness of being surrounded by people who love us and whom we love during our short time on this earth, and reminds us of "carpe diem" (make the most of the present day). The discreet black frame sets off the red tones perfectly.
