Reworking of a german renaissaince masterpiece in attmept to bring the profound symbol of annunciaiton beyond particular religious context and into the realm of the living psyche.
Wood as painting surface emphasises quasi-religious character of the work and the contrast to the explosion in the background. The annunciation here is of the real extent of energy available to us in the subconsciouss. This energy in itself has a creative and constructive potential, it's only through supressing and deviating it we risk turning it into a destructive force. The holy figure in the front is the wisdom of subconscious itself, the stabilising force that helps us resist the inner tension and pour out the energy in service of life not of destruction.
