Artist's description:

This print represents a floor plan, the steps of a huge limestone quarry at Tunstead, set on a plateau between Buxton and Tideswell, UK. Limestone is a sedimentary rock made principally of calcium carbonate, a building block of life. The stone is the remnant of ancient creatures, laid to rest on a sea floor until disinterred by Man. The quarry is a portal into another world and we marvel at the alien forms of fossils found therein. When those creatures lived, Tunstead lay on the Equator, except then, there was no Tunstead. When ground is shifted, time and space are shifted also.

technical note
This print is pulled from relief plates cut from rubber, a variation of letterpress. The completed edition made 5 copies. The print is on a sheet measuring 11x13 inches (280x330mm). I can trim the sheet to 8x10 inches, or 10x12 inches or leave it untrimmed, as you wish. I will message for your preference before dispatch.
