Amberwood is an abstract painting created with acrylic on paper and was mounted on canvas. It is part of a series of 20 new paper paintings to celebrate the passing of winter to spring. The painting is composed of several thin layers of acrylic paint applied intuitively. The organic nature is preserved by the first layers, while the upper layers approach a simple, minimalistic composition.
The dominant color is a mint green, interspersed with burnt tones creating a balance between the organic and the abstract. The warm and cold tones blend and echo each other, creating a feeling of fluidity and movement. The last layers are simpler, but no less important. They are soft and complete the painting, giving it a final touch.
