Original artwork description:

This view from Achill on the coast of Ireland captures some of the mystery and mist of the Emerald Isle. I feel comfortable in Ireland with people who have a history as rich as the varied scenery. The watery view from a simple island shows something of the remote aspects of belonging to this final outpost of European lands. The colours are more subdued and suggested than further inland where the scenery can be surprisingly lush. And, my small Irish cottage, an emblem of most of my Irish based paintings, shows a smoking chimney from a peat fire, perhaps?
