The Bois de Boulogne parc on the West side of Paris covers some 850 hectares with 28km of pathways to follow. I was fortunately enough to live within walking distance, and have many fond memories of walks among the woods, lakes and rose gardens.
This particular impressionist piece is alongside the Lac Inferieur where you will often find rowing boats. The painting is on canvas sized 20.9cm by 29.4cm (approximately 8.2in by 11.5in). The actual image size is 28cm by 19.5cm (11in by 7.6in). Being a quite heavyweight canvas and small in size, it can sit within a frame as it is, without the need for being stretched and attached to a backing board.
