Artist's description:

My father grew and bred orchids as a hobby. Year after year he added another greenhouse to our backyard until finally the 3rd one was 6 times larger than the first and covered a full third of the large yard.

He began growing Cataleyas, those orchids that used to be made into corsages, but was one of the first to switch over to the more popular Phalaenopsis with their long-lasting sprays of many flowers. I spent my youth in his greenhouses watering the flowers and carrying the pots from one to another. I grew to have a great love for them. One, named after my sister Julie Lawrence, won a national prize!
I’m proud of my dad, and I hope to slowly show my pride through the pictures of flowers that I create.

This 24x36 inch photograph is printed on finest artist’s canvas using archival pigments that will not fade over time. Ready to hang, people often mistake this large canvas photograph for a painting.
