Creating art takes courage. This artwork is about this courage that is necessary to create, and it is based on the philosophy of Kierkegaard. I believe there is a limit to rational thinking and that true wisdom comes from intuitive knowing - this painting is an expression of this divine knowing that comes through opening our minds to the higher realms of reality. To be able to do this, one needs to let go of the known and make a jump into the unknown, a move that (I hope) is made easier for the onlooker because this painting gives them the courage to create.
