"a fruitcake" is the third member of a series called "I AM NOT".
The series deals with the topic of love and how it often presents itself in present times and urban environments: exciting, but fast-paced, frustrating, heartbreaking. Still, however painful it gets, at the end I will keep on hoping, dreaming and pushing forward.
"a fruitcake" - or rather read: "I AM NOT a fruitcake" - is a seemingly light-footed, bright, light-footed piece. The summery colors - yellow, green, orange - remind us of a bowl full of citrus fruit or a dance on a hot and sandy beach at the Copacabana. If you see all that - perfect! However, another meaning of "a fruitcake" is someone who has gone a bit crazy. When dealing with budding, ongoing, or maybe just finished relationships, it is easy to feel exactly like that - like we have gone crazy. Why did we act a certain way? Did something I said or did drive the other person away? What is wrong with me? "a fruitcake" is my way of saying: you are not crazy. Emotions are not crazy. Being yourself is not crazy. If any person or relationship makes you feel that way: move on. You'll find the one that's right for you and - bam - you will feel anything but a mad person.
