Artist's description:

A Bird in the Hand is a ceramic sculpture that is part of my cat series. Cats are magical independent beings and I enjoy depicting human emotion to them. With a tilt of the head, the chest puffed up.. an eye brow raised.. I use texture, oxides, and crawl glazes to give them attitude. He is sitting on a box(throne) with the words Kings and Crowns engraved. More writing is on the box.. a poem by author unknown. "For how the mighty have fallen, My irony begotten, I'm still here, my plan forgotten.. Seeing things neither here nor there, Remember when I lived without a care? Without compare? How things have changed.. am I deranged? Life is a fabric, woven with magic, it's ups and downs, The Kings and Crowns."
All of my work is very personal, and I enjoy hearing what others see in it... and so the conversation begins.
