"Yacht Race, 2015" by Ian Walder

“The sea is a dark vast expanse of colour and movement. With this piece I have used cheerful shades of aqua marine and jade to give a translucent feel. I love this painting as it looks almost dreamy in a bright sunny room with a white background. My inspiration for this artwork was the bustling Hong Kong skyline seen from a Cruise liner. ”

"Blue Sail, Orange Sky, 2015" by Stephen Conroy

“A memory of those halcyon days watching the sun set over beautiful seascapes of many Mediterranean countries visited during my youthful travels.”

"Blencathra "Saddleback", 2015" by John Crewe

“This is the first in a new and exciting range of landscapes. This stunning large canvas depicts Blencathra mountain, towering 2,850ft above the Lake District, Cumbria. Blencathra is one of the most renowned landmarks in the fells, affectionately known as “Saddleback” for the distinctive drop from its peak. As long ago as 1800, Samuel Taylor Coleridge was inspired by a visit to write of the “tyrannous and strong” winds battering “stern Blencathra”, and it was a favourite of the fell-walker and guide book author Alfred Wainwright. The imposing summit gives sweeping views as far as North Wales and the Isle of Man on a clear day. The dramatic swirl of clouds in blues, pinks and navy tones gives way to the mountain and its surrounding fields. In the foreground, and in minute detail, is the water and the water reeds and grasses. It is a stunning and dramatic painting of one of Cumbria's most beautiful spots.”

"Come Fall, 2015" by Lynn Hughes

“This newest addition to my "Klimt-esque" series of tree paintings brings to mind the fading of summer and the onset of fall with it's rich autumnal colors and cheerful little birds enjoying the sunshine and crispness of the day. Textural elements and the delicate application of gold leaf add to the radiance of this piece.”

"Full Bloom 3, 2015" by Alex Ebdon

“This is one in a series of large scale oil paintings depicting roses from the gardens at Kew. Visiting Kew in mid-summer, I found the rose gardens in full bloom. The visual impact is always intoxicating, but only lasts for a few weeks. With this painting I wanted to capture forever this amazing, transient beauty at a scale that reflected the breathtaking impact of these flowers. I wanted to focus in on the flow of the petal forms, to create a composition that moved more towards the abstract, and capture at this scale the intensity of the colour coming from so many blooms.”

"The Blood Moon, Norfolk, England, 2015" by Rod Edwards

“The Blood Moon of September 2015 was a special event that is rarely repeated. The next is in 2033 AD. This image was captured after a long night, during the peak of the lunar eclipse - around 4am. The image represents our beautiful, magical and yet constantly changing world that is influenced by the inexorable persuasion of our stars and planets. We are not alone ... of that I am sure.”

"Over the Dunes, 2015" by Conni Reinecke

“"Over the Dunes" was recently painted on location in Seaside, OR. One of my favorite places to go for a mini vacation is the Oregon coast. I had a blast painting multiple paintings while I was there. This little watercolor is a simple and cheerful painting that I truly enjoyed creating. One of my favorite memories growing up was the road trip to the beach and seeing the path, over the dunes, to run down to the ocean! I love painting on these watercolor boards as they are sturdy and easy to use while painting outdoors. These boards are also great as I varnish the paintings so they can be framed without glass or even just set on an easel or shelf! This is a fun way to be able to display watercolor paintings!”

""Raku Teal II", 2015" by Terri Deskins

“My "Raku" series incorporates my love of raku pottery, my fascination of Japanese Kanji symbols, and my passion in woodworking. I use acrylic texture that resembles raku pottery; thin pieces of wood to form parts of Kanji symbols; and deeply saturated color to achieve the final piece.”

"Charlotte's Autumn, 2015" by Claire Sadler

“My young family love watching my paintings change and develop and offer critique and advice daily. My six year old kept asking me "Why does Autumn HAVE to be red and orange?". "Why can't you paint it blue?". Children have so much more freedom of expression don't they?.....and of course she's right. We do not have to paint anything in its rightful colour. So here it is! Charlotte's Autumn! I've got to agree with my youngest, it looks very striking and what a colourful joy to paint!”

"Fan Girl, 2011" by Rosie Scribblah

“"She dreams her life away with the objects of her desires." I was remembering those teenage crushes on pop stars - I LOVED The Monkees - and how so much of my time was spent day dreaming about them. Where did the time come from? Not enough hours in the day now! As part of my artistic practice, I like to study and build upon my theoretical base. This is one of a series of small oil paintings inspired by re-acquainting myself with Johannes Itten's colour theories.”
