"Snowdonia II, 2014" by Mike Hall - mikehallart

"My images of Snowdonia are an amalgam of snapshots and imagination. I try to convey not only the beauty of the national park but the essence of it's clear waters and during the winter months in particular, the crystalline, sharp air." Merry Christmas from the Artfinder Team!

"S194, 2015" by Selva Veeriah

"All my paintings are made intuitively, choice of colours, brush strokes, and design. There is no preconceived objective, planning, or sketching. I let go of control, go with the flow, and never know how a painting is going to look until it nears the final stages. I stop working when the hues, values, and composition achieve a certain dynamic balance that feels complete."

"Mining the Earth II, 2015" by Angela Dierks

"This is the second in a series of paintings inspired by a subterranean volcanic landscape. I was drawn to this imagery because of the strong, fiery colours. Vibrant red and orange combine with grey lilac and rose on a highly textured canvas. Like all my paintings 'Mining the Earth II' is built with layers of layers of thick paint that is applied, scratched off and re-applied. This process lends the painting depth and makes it richly textured."

"Deep in the Meadow, 2015" by Branka

"To me my art is my childhood: safe and magical. "Deep in the Meadow" is a lullaby, that creates a sense of calm after the madness of the day. "Here it's safe and here it's warm, and here the daises guard you from every harm. And here your dreams are sweet and tomorrow brings them true Here is the place I love you.""

"Diane, 2015" by The Empress' Kiss

"This painting was started on Christmas Day in 2014. I was away from home with an urge to create, so I began drawing with colourful inks; the only materials available. Upon returning home in January 2015, my big box of fabrics and Gouache paints then joined the party, and 'Diane' was the result of the fusion of the different media. My aunt said she found it to be a very 'future oriented' piece of work, which is correct because the majority of my artworks have elements of the past and nostalgia attached to them. I've named it after her."

"NCU 001.9, 2015" by Teun van der Zalm

“In the second quarter of 2015, I began to research a new project: “What lies beyond the edge of the Observable Universe?” I began an experiment to visualize this through our universal language: Mathematics. Built from several different noise fields, this is the first of many different nebulas, a tenth of a larger nebula f 2 billion particles that creates a dense cloud.”

"sea of lupine" by Ramya Sarveshwar

“All artists love to paint layers, the distant mountains towering over land, the receding clouds, the warm evergreen trees all adding to the beauty of nature and lastly the flowers close by all basking in the warm glow of the Sun. 'Sea of Lupine' is one such painting where all these players dance and spring with life and vibrancy.”

"Sunset Sunrise (Teal Colorfield), 2015" by Nestor Toro

“Sunset Sunrise is a vibrant teal and orange abstract landscape colorfield. Beautiful colours blend with iridescent mediums for a striking effect. This painting was completed using sponges instead of brushes, this gives a very smooth and even texture to the piece.”

"Mini abstract landscape VI, 2015" by Suzie Cumming

“This is part of a series of original mini acrylic paintings featuring abstract landscapes and a colour palette in yellows, pinks, cream and petrol blue. This one reminds me of when it first starts snowing and the magic that happens as the landscape is suddenly engulfed in a puffy white layer. There is a beautiful silence and everything becomes still.”

"Flowers in the rain, 2015" by Colette Baumback

“The idea to create this work was inspired by Artfinder's "Rain" project, I love the intensity of colour that comes with the summer rain. I have used an unusual palette based on turquoise and pinks to give this painting a dreamlike quality. The work was created with lots of heavy body paint applied with a palette knife giving the painting texture.”
