"Party Animals, 2017" by georgianne fastaia

“Dogs are our link to paradise. They don't know evil or jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring--it was peace.” ― Milan Kundera "No matter how close we are to another person, few human relationships are as free from strife, as is the relationship you have with a good dog. We cherish dogs because their unblemished souls make us wish that we were as innocent, and make us yearn for a place where the cruelties of this world are unknown.” ― Dean Koontz, A Big Little Life: Memoir of a Joyful Dog "Party Animals" is a lush, original oil painting of two dogs wearing party hats inspired by my good dogs. "Alarms-Broad Street, 2017" by Damion Maxwell

I love colour, light, reflections and a busy scene that encourages the viewer to look and I think this work encompasses all of the above. Broad street is a road in Birmingham, it's a very busy street with pubs, restaurants and activity. As a firefighter I've sped down here many times on blues and twos. It was very exciting seeing all the blurred faces of the party people coupled with the neons, LEDs and bright lights. Many happenings here, however I'll let you find them all rather than me describe them!

"Old Friends, 2017" by Andrew Alan Johnson

Two old trees feature in this heart of the forest stylized painting. Deep in the centre of an ancient woodland stand two noble trees. They have witnessed many years of change and form the inspiration for this stylized artwork.

"SEASIDE GIRL - Moment of meditation - Oil painting on canvas" by Wadih Maalouf

A painting representing a view of a girl sitting at the seaside and watching the horizon. It's an image that tells a story of a girl who's taking her time meditating, reflecting on a dreamlike scene. It takes you to a beautiful outside world through the sea. The background of the sea and sky create a spiritual moment of desire to be inside the picture.

""Ava", Original mixed media painting on canvas, 2017 " by Elena Kraft

Painting is a way to show the wonder of various aspects of existence, experiencing joy every day. In my works I try to dress up emotions in beautiful and harmonious forms, to show the depth of everyday life. My goal is to give life to colors and shapes.

"The Darker the Berry, 2017" by Mikéla Henry-Lowe

Showing an appreciation for the darker shades of a black woman. I wanted to challenge myself by practicing painting much darker tones and show representations of such beauties.

"Point of Departure, 2017" by Sal Jones

“I’m interested in developing ideas around fiction and reality and shifting contexts; the cross-over between painting, photography and film, how we interpret and relate to images as spectators and how they affect us. Recent work can be best described as a reinterpretation of the portraiture tradition with an emphasis on emotional conflict and expression. This piece is no exception.”

"Lady Noire, 2017" by Lisa Hokans

“I've recently become addicted to RuPaul's Drag Race. Mostly I'm drawn to the incredible creativity... the reinventing of oneself into a fabulous bird of paradise. I find the transformation to be pure art. One of the most successful and bewitching new drag queens is Violet Chachki. Her costumes are the most exquisite works of stitchery, her Erte look is beyond gorgeous and her pin-up looks rival Bettie Page and Dita Von Teese. This painting is a tribute to her classic beauty and killer style.”

"Trees near Mont St Michel, 2017" by Henry Jones

“This was painted plein air during the Artfinder residency at a fine old country manor house in Brittany. Le Mont is a subject I have long wanted to paint, so when the opportunity arose, after the Artfinder residency, I could not resist. Painted from the level of the tidal plain, below the causeway, I turned 90º from the Mont to view this typically French avenue of trees. I attempted to capture the subtle late afternoon light, contre-jour, with cool washes.”

“There is always something going on around the harbour for a seagull! Chips to be stolen, fisher men's left-overs and lots of other goodies...!”
