"Oncidium equitant Orchid in color 1, 2002" by Gordon T.

“I grow and breed orchids. I love them, to me they are living sculpture, so naturally I end up doing paintings on this subject. A few years back I went through a phase with this particular type of orchid, Oncidium equitants. My paper is a traditional handmade mulberry paper made in Thailand; it's a thick parchment type paper, strong yet pliable. I have the paper made to this size to get the deckled edges which adds to the textural effect.”

"Window Dressing, 2014" by Therese O'Keeffe

“This is an oil painting of Hydrangeas done with both pallet knife and brush. I love to paint flowers as well as beaches and landscapes. The Hydrangeas are in full bloom at the moment in the garden and I particularly love to paint this white variety as you can see all the different shades of white in them.”

"A Lazy Walk on the Beach" by Chris Mcloughlin

“I love taking walks along the beach in the evenings, watching the sun go down, feeling the sand between ones toes and the warm wind on my face. ‘A Lazy Walk Along the Beach’ is based upon our evening beach walks with its tranquil and peaceful mood, it's a lovely way to wind down after a busy week. This particular painting is painted on location (Plein Air) in the early evening just as the tide turns.”

""Aqua", 2014" by Katie Jobling

“Such beautiful colours combine together in this painting to create a dreamy landscape. The horizon has some impasto oil paint to create texture. I really love the calming feel I get from staring into its distance. This painting comes ready to hang and is signed on the front, and dated on the back.”

"Flags Waving, 2014" by Jill Griffin

“Irises are my favourite of all flowers and this particular work was painstaking but so satisfying to make on gorgeous handmade watercolour paper. I have been challenging myself to paint in a loose wet and wet style for this series of work, and this paper handles the technique sublimely.”

They are all 'one off' original pieces that can be collected as a set and hung in any configuration, or displayed as single stand alone artworks. The paintings feature my usual heavy texture and acrylic wash signature style and are themed on landscapes, florals, trees and mosaics. Each one a unique and collectable artwork!”

"Snowflake Deer, 2013" by Luna North

“Influenced by mid century modern art and design, my wildlife linocut features a pair of wild deer in a pure blue. Watching nature brings a quiet simplicity that I love to capture in contemporary lines. Hand printed by me in my studio using oil printing inks and fine Japanese paper.”

"'The Giraffe Gang', 2014" by Simon Kirk

“‘The Giraffe Gang’ is more minimal than my usual densely layered decollages, but it still retains my interest in the juxtaposition of text and image to create a playful, humorous work. The text is cut from pages of novels. In my variation of the cut up technique I cut the ‘poem’ I create out in one section. This is distinct from the cut up technique of cutting out strips of words and re-arranging them randomly.”

"BOO!" by Sam Fenner

For ostricher or poorer... This is a brand new addition to Sam's mad menagerie! This hilarious ostrich is the latest crazy bird to join the other quirky animals in the increasingly popular series. Sam Fenner paints animal portraits, but they are much more than mere realistic images; they have a painterly quality which is an absolute joy. Add to that, the feeling that these animals have almost human characters, and even more pleasure comes from then seeing how Sam's witty and hilarious titles fit the image so closely.

"Shape C/Z, 2013" by Filippo Minelli

Filippo Minelli's work is based on the creation of artworks representing reality through concepts expressed with words and silence. His practice led him to scout the perfect locations for interventions and to use them as setting for artworks, getting sense thanks to their relation with the surroundings. Minelli started his ongoing series 'Silence/Shapes' in early 2010 to give a physical shape to silence. He chose eco-friendly chemicals used to create smoke bombs, juxtaposing them with the romantic beauty of natural landscapes. As smoke bombs are a medium traditionally devoted to create chaos in political demonstrations the aim is to show that beauty can be found in clashing visions. This visual effect is re-enacting in photography what Kurosawa did with sound in his movies, leaving the spectator astonished by the materialisation of silence.
