    “Creativity takes Courage”... Henri Matisse

    “Creativity takes Courage”... Henri Matisse

This time last year, reading the lovely Victoria’s @featherandwild blog post about choosing a word for the year really resonated with me...so for the first time I chose a word for 2018: COURAGE... to explore, experiment more and empower my painting practice both artistically and creatively, but also to grow my business. . Initially I put far to much expectation on myself, and there have been some challenges, huge frustrations, mental and physical. But, this year I have learned SO much about myself, my ‘why’, and it’s given me the strength to keep going, allowing my creativity time and space that it needs. I’m excited going forward to embrace what lies ahead with plans and aspirations for the new year. More on that soon, and over the coming days I will be ruminating what my word for 2019 will be...✨ . Did you chose a word? Has it empowered you? I would love to hear your thoughts. Have you chosen a word yet for 2019?

    September light in the studio...

What a glorious start to this new week! Gorgeous sunlight streaming into the studio, and there’s a fresh crispness in the air! It makes me feel revitalised and puts a smile on my face! I am so grateful for Autumn days like this one 💛🍂 . This week I’m finishing off my latest series of paintings inspired by my recent trip to Cornwall...evoking memories of walking along the sand dunes, gazing out to sea, grasses brushing and swaying in the salty air...💙 I will be adding these new coastal paintings to my shop over the coming days. Will keep you posted!

I’ve been working on a new series of coastal inspired paintings...cherished moments amongst the dune grasses swaying in the salty sea air, and soft sunlight radiating is my muse. Building layers and texture I am enjoying seeing these visual memories emerge on the canvas 💙
