  • Biography
I grew up loving painting and drawing, and art was all I wanted to be involved with, both the doing and the seeing, I am thus a very visual person in the experience of my life.  As a child any academic lessons that involved drawing were the ones that I ended up being good at, as that was my pleasure.  I was born in Hertfordshire but by the time of my teens we had moved to the East Anglian coast.  I am not formally art college trained, and I received my first commission whilst travelling in Australia in my late twenties, it was to paint a mural in someone's house, which led to further commission and ultimately to my changing my career path altogether, from interior designer to painter.  In 1994 I had my first one man show, exhibiting paintings of the Bridges of London that were shown in Tower Bridge on its centenary.  Following on from there I discovered Artichoke Printworks; an open access studio in Brixton that had recently been set up, and from then on I became a printmaker too.  A large volume of my work over the years has been done to commission, but I love a little space now and again to produce my own art, things that I see, and that I wish to capture either through painting or the printmaking process.  My studio is in London and I share a home with my partner in Hampshire.
