Working on a donation painting for Deptford Does Art

Working on a donation painting for Deptford Does Art

In this photo I'm working on a slightly smaller version of one of my most popular images, the fired chicken box. I'm donating it to a brilliant organisation in South London that I'd done exhibitions with in the past. Check them out here - https://twitter.com/DeptfordDoesArt And here is the original ArtFinder listing - https://www.artfinder.com/product/chicken-and-chips-pop-art-painting/

    Re-use, recycle!

    Re-use, recycle!

Occasionally if a painting of mine has been around for a while and no one has bought it, and if I've also fallen out of love with it a bit, I will re-paint over them so I can create a whole new canvas. That's what's happening in this photo. So keep an eye out for some new paintings coming soon on recycled canvas!

    Working outside in the summer!

I'm lucky enough to have a balcony to work outside on when the weather is nice in London! Here you can see two of my recently completed paintings, featuring donuts, vegetables, and sweets. (It makes sense, I swear.)

Working on my first mural back in May

Working on my first mural back in May

Here's a flashback picture to when I was working on my first mural in May 2016. The client hired me based on a painting he'd seen that I'd sold on ArtFinder. Anyone can go to see the finished street art on Albion Road in Stoke Newington, London.

    In the studio: New

    In the studio: New

I was asked to do a takeover of Urban Makers East's Instagram account so I needed to take some new shots of myself in my studio. I feel that this one came out particularly well as it shows me surrounded by several of my own paintings plus posters of my influences and inspirations. My studio is actually the spare room in my East London flat, so it gets cluttered easily but I love it!

    Finished mural commission

    Finished mural commission

On Saturday the 7th of May I completed my first ever mural commission. It's on Albion Road in Stoke Newington, London, and the design was based on a painting I originally sold through ArtFinder in 2015, depicting an ice cream and a fab lolly. The phone symbol in the middle is the company logo for Ample Play records, owned by Tjinder from the band Cornershop, who commissioned this piece. You can see the finished mural in London now. This was the original piece - https://www.artfinder.com/product/fab-lolly-and-mr-whippy-ice-cream/

    In the studio

Following a week of good sales I've hit the studio in order to restock my ArtFinder store and to prepare new work for the Urban Makers East market I'll be selling at on the 23rd of April. Come and see me, and see my paintings and prints in person! PS. This is fairly tidy for my studio space. Enjoy it.

    Creating typography art

    Creating typography art

I'm really interested in creating handmade typography, like an old school graphic designer. I do some bits of graphic design on the side but ultimately I'd love to combine it with traditional art practices - to me they're the same thing! This is my latest and favourite example of my handmade font. It's inspired by three modern artists and movements. See if you can guess which! The finished piece is available to buy now. This is a 'work in progress' photo from my studio.
