This artwork was inspired by my visit to Royal Botanic Garden in Cranbourne. I was drawn immediately to this particular Eucalyptus macrocarpa tree in full bloom in the flowering season. I love the details on those large ovate grey leaves and the earthy tone on the plant. The rough surface on the gum nuts and the smooth silky texture on the flowers, display of greatest strength of life. I present you the latest piece from my award-winning/signature series -Bloom like flowers. Eucalyptus Macrocarpa (Mottlecah), a sprawling mallee endemic to Western Australia. Eucalyptus flowers also have the symbolic meaning of Healing and Protection. The flower always blooms in its own time without competing with other flowers. Much appreciated to MHFA Chairperson Vasan ,Lord Mayor Sally Capp, City of Melbourne for supporting the event. May our days be filled with light. From where I live in Bayswater, there is a big field of forest nearby my studio. It has become a routine of mine to paint the first bloom of the plant around my surrounding, now you are looking at my latest interpretation of my favorite gum tree. Featured Artwork in the photo- Come A Little Bit Closer - Banksia Baxteri (2020) – Original artwork SOLD to a collector in Victoria, Australia on 2020. - Banksia baxteri, member of the family Proteaceae, have been said to look like a bird's nest, also known as 'Baxter's Banksia' and 'Bird's Nest Banksia'. It is endemic to Western Australia. Flowering occurs mid-Summer to Autumn continue until well into May. Banksia also symbolizes rebirth and new beginnings. Geraldton wax (Chamelaucium uncinatum) is also a beautiful flowering Australian native shrub. The flowers have a sweet, honey fragrance, ooze nectar and are highly attractive to bees.     Swoon and Bloom - Passion Flower By HSIN LIN 15/09/2021 Artist Acrylic on Gesso primed canvas. Artwork painted extends to all Sides. Sealed with clear varnish. 76 cm (H) x 51 (W) x 3cm (D) Affirmation: Listen with your heart, speak with love. To experience the changing of the seasons and to present moments, it has become a routine of mine to paint the first bloom in my surrounding during its flowering season. This artwork is inspired by the Passion Vine that I spotted in my neighborhood closed to my art studio. I was fascinated by those interesting fringed petals and splendorous tendrils; the white petals shine bright like precious gems under the sunshine. Fun Fact of these unusual blossoms - Passion Flower Essence is used to purify and strengthen one’s connection to unconditional love even nowadays. A Truly Special and Symbolic Gift- Passion Flower, was named by Roman Catholic priests In the 15th and 16th centuries for the Passion of Jesus Christ. There were old sayings that the flower's five petals and five petallike sepals represented the 10 faithful apostles. As for the circle of filaments in the center of the bloomsome, stands for the Crown of Thorns. This artwork is painted during the lockdown, a special isolation diary that I wrote with my paintbrushes. Flowers always bloom in their own time without competing with other flowers. May we all bloom in our time in the best season. Hope you enjoy this artwork of mine. -Bloom like flowers - In this signature series of mine, flowers as the object represent life itself to me. Our own will to be alive, and the way we want to be alive. While I carefully paint these tiny flower petals or built up those fine leaves’ vines, it is like the way we try to figure out those uncertainties, furthermore, to be able to be closer to the truth a little bit more. By the time I have this artwork completed, I decided to name this artwork - A Life Time Love, which is also an extension from my previous artwork – A Life Time Journey, A Life time blessing, and Have Faith in A Sunny Place. Because the world might change all of a sudden, but love keeps us grounded. This is also a reminder to myself- always take care and love yourself first, that’s what makes you stronger.     A Life Time Story - Orchids and Roses on Wood Tray with A Weaving Basket (2021) By HSIN LIN Artist Acrylic gallery wrapped canvas. Ready to hang 76.2 (W) x 121.9 cm (H) x 3.5 cm (D) Affirmation: Show appreciation and love and the rest shall come to you. In this particular painting, the delicate, exotic orchid represents love, luxury, beauty, and strength. In ancient Greece, orchids were associated with virility. Pink roses are symbolic of gratitude and appreciation. Flowers represent us as humans, the wood tray and vases as the body carrying our soul and physical body, protecting us as a shield in the natural order. The weaving basket stands for connections, the connection between families, friends, all the people around us. Even if you are apart, everyone is still being linked together as a whole, stronger together. Every passenger in our life, every stranger, people who are meant to cross our path for a reason, plays an irreplaceable role in this lifetime story.     The upcoming project is going to be exciting! So, a while ago my best friend aka my best photographer paid a visit to my studio. I decided to pick one of my best dresses to go along with this artwork while I can. After all, this beauty had stayed on my easel for 6 months and I think it deserved the best don’t you think?     Hello beautiful people! Hope you are well. July update from my studio- a sneak peek of my current public art project. While I am having my 250th painting progressing in the studio, I am pleased and humbled to be notified that this artwork of mine- Capturing Freedom - is chosen by Maroondah City Council signal boxes public art project - Celebrating local cultural vibrancy, on July 2021. It will be printed as a vinyl wrap adhered to signal boxes on the site - corner Eastfield Road and Bayswater Road, adjoining Cheong Park, Box number 626. If you are around the area, make sure to keep an eye for a signal box in vibrant colour! Painting this artwork gave me such a good vibe and I couldn’t wait to see it alive on the local public art project really! Side panel painted Black Acrylic painting on gesso primed Acid-free canvas As many of you may know I don’t paint birds very often, but when I do it’s normally a self-projection. Pink Cockatoos / Major Mitchell's Cockatoo is hard to miss, with their pink coloring and distinctive red and white crest. These friendly, playful, highly social birds represent inner influence, balance, joy, abundance. I often see pink cockatoos having launch under the winter sun in the park peacefully or fly up to the branches in a flock playfully. It’s one of my favourite scenes to enjoy. This artwork is also painted during the lockdown in Victoria as we are having it again. A special isolation diary that I wrote with my paintbrushes.
