Original artwork description:
New Series for 2021 based on and inspired by the famous Milan based Italian fashion house of Missoni.
Starting in the late 1950's they used pattern and colours in their knitwear that is a signature style and recognised world wide today. This work is made from colourfast paper that is then coated with layers of cold wax and a UV inhibitor, polished and then set in an oak box frame.
Zig Zag 2 is inspired by a series of fabrics designed in the 1980's based on Native American blanket designs and is the companion piece of Zig Zag 1, with slight colour variations.
Materials used:
Colourfast paper mounted on panels, cold wax medium and UV varnish has been applied with numerous coats and then hand polished.
