Original artwork description:

The forest around is busy with its own affairs. It does not stop its annual cycle for a minute. Beavers, squirrels, foxes, moose walk around, not afraid of the proximity of our town. And my favourite little forest river charms me again.

A very bright and at the same time modest picture, it has a lot of warm tones despite the cold air and deep snow.
I painted this picture on my usual favorite plein-air day. When you put on clothes like on ice fishing, you throw a box of paints on your shoulder and walk from the last house (and thank God we live completely on the edge of the forest) past the rare surprised passers-by deep into the forest and between the dunes and pines. And there is a complete joy for me.
Silence, unhurriedness, the air is delicious, frosty, crunchy like an apple and smells just as sweet. I go, I find a bright spot, or a gentle turn of the river or a glimpse of the sky or a sunset orange ray on the trunk of a pine tree. And I decide to stay here. I've been writing the sketch for about three or four hours. I rarely finish it in the workshop. Only if twigs, reeds, little things of any kind - hands by the end of the study stiffen. The basic relationship has already been put on the canvas. If the weather changes during the study, I don't get distracted by it. I am painting the state from which I started.
Do not think that our lake and its surroundings are very spacious. No. This is literally two or three square kilometers, on which an amazing adventure has been unfolding for me for 30 years now.

Materials used:

linen canvas, massive pine tree frame work, oil paints, acrylic primer, palette knife
