This painting is based on the work of Claude Monet. Of course, this is not a copy. I have not thoroughly studied the artist's technique.
But I am a longtime fan of the Impressionists, so I made a replica in my way. I tried to preserve the colouring in the original and light strokes.
Most importantly, this picture has the mood of a not too sunny winter day in a small town. Small towns are similar in many countries.
So I spent my childhood in a very similar town in the south of the Urals. True, in the winter, we had more snowdrifts.
But this street, tiny houses reminded me so much of the city of my childhood that even tears came to my eyes.
Here is this winter city in France, where I have not been. But he is as dear to me as my childhood.

Thanks to its light, limited palette, such a picture fits into both minimalistic and romantic interiors. I have already designed this oil painting in a laconic dark baguette.
