Original artwork description:

This large format ink and acrylic drawing is a critique of the UK government's heightened level of instability and greed and the resulting effects on the working population.

Many people this winter will be making the impossible choice between adequate heating and food, while Britains richest prime minister in history hands the remaining silverware in the drawer to his gilded friends.

I chose to subvert the format of a stamp, a vehicle usually used to celebrate a nation's proudest achievements, instead it displays the UK's greatest failure to those who keep the country running.

The illustrations main focus, a piece of classical sculpture is 'Marsya Hanging', a beautiful piece of classical sculpture that I stumbled upon while weaving through the crowds at the Louvre, Paris.

Acrylic and pen on handmade paper.

Materials used:

Ink and acrylic on paper
