Original artwork description:

There’s nothing like the romanticism of an unkempt countryside landscape running wild with overgrown roses. The 'Where the Wild Roses Grow' series is evocative of such landscapes, in them you’ll discover the beauty of textures, the layers of the painting process hinting at the history of aging fences and covered paths. You’ll be reminded of childhood explorations, romantic walks and historic novels with this painting, these are nostalgic moments to cherish.

Description bit!: Original Small Acrylic and mixed media landscape in an impressionistic style with ink, pencil, collage, paints and scratched details, the painting abstractly represents trees, shrubs, grasses and flowers painted in November 2021.

This work was created through experimentation with Design, colour, value and texture. Using an abstract base of collage, text and texture, I then worked on top layering inks, paint, pencils and more collage. I then began a process of subtraction using white to ‘calm’ the skies and the outer parts of the painting, mostly through the use of white, until the focal point of an abstract landscape emerge. The marks often reveal the energy with which my work is painted.

Part of a series of works - This painting is 13cm X 13cm and will be sent to you matted (mounted) in a 8" X 8" (approx 20 x 20cm) off white mount as shown.

Please be aware that colours may appear different to those on your screen and will look different in different lights. Do check dimensions carefully and any questions? please do ask :)

Materials used:

Acrylic paper, Artists acrylics, papers, pencils, inks - plus cardboard mount
