Artwork description:

This is a depiction of a sunrise on the West Coast of America. Long gone are the days when I saw my sunrises as the end of a night out and so when we walked at dawn, I had to stop and look at the colours in the sky and sea, which are actually quite different from a sunset.
This piece was also produced during the late spring and early summer of 2020. Sunrises bringing a fresh day, with new possibilities seemed very apt and inspiring.

West Coast Sunrise is a reduction Lino print. This means it is created using one piece of Lino. It is printed with one colour ink, then carved and printed with another colour. The process is repeated several times until the final image is completed. This particular print was printed 8 times with 12 different coloured inks. The process means that each edition is limited- it simply cannot be reproduced. As these are hand printed, each print will have tiny variations making is a stand alone piece of art. This is an edition of just 10 prints.

The printed area is 30.5cm by 20.5cm and is on hand torn, as is traditional, cotton paper which measures 35 x 25 cm. It is signed and numbered on the front.

All prints are backed with card, with a certificate of authenticity. They are then wrapped in cellophane and send well protected in a card backed envelope.

Please note the room views, do not show the print to scale.

Materials used:

lino, cutting tools, roller, inks, printing press, paper
