Travelling east along the coast from my birthplace, you will encounter Beachy Head. Shear white chalk cliffs rising from an occasional pebbly beach. For me it presents pleasure, wind direction permitting, in the form of a dramatic high point from which to fly my large model gliders. With a clear view across the English Channel, weather can be seen approaching. In this painting I have tried to capture the moment a heavy summer shower hits the clifftop. Using a minimal pallete: burnt and raw sienna, cobalt, and umber (plus a splash of red for the lighthouse) loose washes were applied then three glazes of darkening tone added some drama.
All paintings are wrapped and packed in robust card and posted
within one working day in the UK, slightly longer internationally.
