Original artwork description:

A few decades ago, crystal was a very profitable investment. Now, however, I see it as a work of art, which looks spectacular on my oil painting composition. Looking at crystal decanters and glasses gives me great pleasure. I am inspired to capture their subtle patterns and the play of light in my new oil work. In this case it is a monochrome work. Consciously avoiding bright colours, nothing distracts from the shapes and the play of light. Crystal is unlikey to return to fashion, but this nostalgic sketch will tell the viewer about a bygone era.

The painting is authentic and original.

Oil paints based on natural pigments were used. Damar varnish and linseed oil have been added.

The base is 300g/m2 paper primed with acrylic paste. Paper sheet size 17.5"x12.5"in with white borders around the perimeter. Outline dimensions 17.0"x12.0"in excluding white borders (see additional photos). Framing and wall fixing elements not included.

The technique of painting is author's. The layers of paint are thick. Varnish for the top coat in not used.

It is possible to print.
