Original artwork description:

Valkenlaagte – 09-04-20

On my extensive trips I sometimes come across specific spots of beauty and in this case not accidentally. I saw a great mansion ‘for sale’ at the Valkenlaagte and I am sure I cannot buy it on short notice. These days of reclusion however are days of daydreaming and therefor I took the trip nonetheless, just a slight detour to my parents’ house at Nijmegen to see it for myself and this drawing is to commemorate this dream. It will remind me there are things to pursue, especially a bigger studio to create bigger paintings in. If there were such a place where I would lead my life until the end, it will be the hamlet ‘Valkenlaagte’ at Berg en Dal, near Nijmegen, Gelderland, Netherlands.
