Original artwork description:

When the written code of life and love changes to an instrument of divison and intolerance, it is time to start afresh. Re-imagine. Unlearn and Unwrite

UnWrite forms part of my painting series titled 'Still Life Commentaries' - which arises out of my belief that the material world around us is a mute commentary on our life and times. The objects we cherish, those we use and others which we discard - each is an conscious or often unconscious choice that reflects our identity and beliefs. From the artifacts in our museums to the commonplace objects in our homes, each is an eloquent tale worth listening to - a story of our world as it will be interpreted by the future.

This photorealistic painting looks at the tale told by our use of holy books around the world, and makes a dispassionate appeal for religious tolerance.

Materials used:

Oil on primed pintura fine grain canvas
