The piece is the left panel of a two panel diptych. The inspiration for the piece is the spatial relationship between, circles, shapes and lines highlighted with vibrant colors and shading. The right panel is also posted here on Art Finder.
Titling the piece Pandora introduces the right diptych panel: Pandora II. The combined diptych represents the artists perception of the mythical Greek tragedy figure Pandora.
Pandora I visually depicts the state of being before the brother of Zeus gifted a box to Pandora. All was well orderly, stable and organized. All was in order. The right panel , Pandora II, depicts the state of being after Pandora opened the box. All is disorganized, disheveled, unstable and in total disarray. Yet, there exist a path to a more stable environment for those who chose (choose) the path . And then there is peace. See Pandora II.
